Dr. H. M. Chandrashekar is an educationist, technocrat and agriculturist with a longstanding commitment to education, social development and community service. He is the Chairman of Silicon City College, K.R. Puram, Bengaluru, and the Founder Trustee of M J Education Trust.
His professional journey combines experience in education, construction, consultancy, infrastructure development and agriculture, reflecting his belief that meaningful progress comes through knowledge, responsible leadership and service to society.

Early Inspiration & Social Commitment
A Journey Rooted in Service:
Dr. H. M. Chandrashekar’s interest in social service began during his formative years. According to his personal profile, his father was associated with individuals who worked towards spirituality, equality and social upliftment. These early influences shaped his interest in serving society and contributing to nation building.
During his college years, he became actively involved in student and social movements. In the 1980s, he observed the educational and socio-economic disparity between rural and urban students and worked towards supporting rural youth through the Rural Students Union, under the guidance of educationists Prof. K. Mallaiah and Prof. Nagaraj.

Building Silicon City College
From Vision to Institution:
Dr. H. M. Chandrashekar, together with family members and like-minded associates, established M J Education Trust in 2005 with the vision of giving back to society through a value- and principle-based educational institution. The Trust subsequently established Silicon City College at Krishna Raja Puram, Bengaluru.
As Chairman, his focus has been on empowering young minds through education and creating opportunities for students from different parts of India.
Silicon City College has grown as a comprehensive institution offering career-oriented higher education, with a focus on developing students academically as well as socially, morally, culturally and ethically.

He received the Rashtriya Vikas Ratna Award at the 41st National Seminar on Individual Achievement for Economic and Social Development of Nation in New Delhi on 27 December 2009.
